“Eric Deggans is NPR’s first full-time TV critic and a contributor and media analyst for MSNBC/ NBC News. A journalist with a 20-year history as Tampa Bay Times TV/ Media Critic, Deggans is the author of Race Baiter: How the Media Wields Dangerous Words to Divide a Nation. The book examines the ways in which modern media fuels some elements of prejudice, racism and sexism. Deggans will sign copies of the book for purchase at the event.”

Join the race equity movement on this all-ages quest to explore St. Pete’s rich history of Black culture and contribution. Download the map, click the links to learn more about each site, and complete Black Excellence Actions to win free Juneteenth swag at each location. The quest begins at 10am. Visit at least three sites to receive your final swag bag at the Expo tent at 642 22nd St S. The quest concludes at 3pm.

Race Amity Day 2020 (National)

NCR announces production of the Virtual 2020 Race Amity Day Celebration, which will be streamed on Facebook Live and YouTube Live on Race Amity Day, June 14. The one hour program, “Reset To Our Destiny – E Pluribus Unum”, will stream live 4PM- 5PM Eastern time. It will be hosted by award winning journalist Celeste Headlee. Headlee has appeared on NPR, PBS World, PRI, CNN, BBC and other international networks. She was formerly a host at National Public Radio, anchoring shows including Talk of the Nation, All Things Considered and Weekend Edition.
